Breaking with normal journalistic practice, there are circumstances in which responses may not be shared. The primary aim of this site is reducing the impact of our problems caused by Adrian's behavior. I have long made clear to Workers Lab's directors and founders that if they ever want to work on a plan for stabilizing our project, and that would be facilitated by discussion that remains off-the-record, I will comply.
It may seem surprising but relationships between Adrian and I have remained amicable over the last 18 months. That should continue. I have never doubted his preference for this project to succeed. In our dialogue about the problems, I have framed the issues as about disagreement and contrasting workstyles: I think his behaviour has been unprofessional and unacceptable, he is happy with it and doesn't care who knows about it. Like relatives with opposing political views united in a commitment to their family, we can work together.
From my end I will be working to maintain that accord, the project is too valuable to be derailed by these problems. But they can't be concealed any longer. I am aware that , predictably, grantees have none of the protections from retaliation against a whistle-blower, that employees enjoy.
